Confession:
Lately I have been feeling guilty for not blogging more.

When I started trying to grow my blog last summer/fall I really thought I could follow all the awesome advice out there and aspire to create something that could potentially be a source of income...Well then I got engaged, we bought a house, and I am still working full time and taking classes towards my master's degree.  As more people are "following" Sew Gloried I feel more and more responsible for providing entertaining content, inspiring ideas, AND reliable posting.

However, I feel as though I need to write this post after reading an excellent one by Kate at The Small Things Blog.  There are several other posts out there along these lines that emphasize the balance that you need when just living life.  Also, I really do enjoy blogging...but not so much when it becomes something I worry about.

All that being said, I'm not stopping blogging.  I'm just changing how I view it.
I am OK if I don't make money from it.
I am OK if I don't have 1000's of followers; I really like you who are with me now;).
I am OK with posting when I am sane'ly able to.
I am OK with allowing myself to ENJOY sharing ideas without feeling obligated to provide new content all the time.
I am OK with writing tutorials that aren't the most detailed...if you've got questions about one just ask!
and lastly...
I am OK with not feeling guilty for asking you to be understanding as you read Sew Gloried over the next few months :)
I hope you are OK with all these too :)

Thanks for the all the support!

I will still be coordinating sponsor swaps and have 2 more spots for April!

March Sponsors!

It's almost March and you may have noticed my little sidebar changing...it's filling up with sponsors!

I've changed my sponsor criteria a bit in hopes that it makes it easier for people to form partnerships between their blog and Sew Gloried. (you can find out how to be a sponsor here)

I can't wait to tell you all about the March sponsors!  I will be introducing the sponsors on the first Saturday of each month which means that this Saturday  March 3rd you will get to meet some awesome bloggers!

Till then...
we've got the Wonderful Wednesday post coming up tomorrow

and I'll leave you with this thought of mine I had this weekend:

Soulful Sunday 1: Revised

At the request of Vanessa who posted a comment on the first Soulful Sunday printable I have created some other versions of that printable using more neutral colors.

You might notice that the font is a bit different...this is because when I went to re-color the image it didn't fill in all of the pixels around the words so if you looked close you could see a small discoloration of the original color around the words.

I'm sorta liking this font better anyways...oh yes and this printable is in an 8x10 dimension.  I believe there should be enough space around the edges to crop off to make it smaller or to resize.

In order to download right-click the photo and select "Open link in New Tab." Go over to the new tab and click when hovering over the picture to zoom in to it's true size.  Then you can right-click on the image, select "Save As" and save it to your computer.

Soulful Sunday Week 2

I've been hearing Mat Kearney's new song "Hey Mama" on the radio quite a bit lately and I love the fact that this song promotes the love between a man and his wife.  Favorite line: "hey lover, don't want no other finger for my ring"  this just makes me smile!

In light of that song here is the graphic quote from Mat Kearney's song "Hey Mama" for this week...enjoy!

This first image is a png image with a transparent background so you should be able to save it to your computer and add your own background if you'd like.

Soulful Sunday 1

Goodmorning!

Ok, so I had intended to start this series on Sunday however I didn't end up being near a computer the whole day so I'm starting it today.  Guess I should start trying to pre-schedule my posts.

Anyhow...

Soulful Sunday will be a post each Sunday that will be a quote from a song that has inspired me each week.  The quotes will be in a 5x7 format and if you'd like the quote re-sized to be larger or smaller for your own personal use just convo me and I'll make it happen! I will also post the quote in several different colors, if you would like the color customized a bit as well just send me a message and I'll try to choose a color as close to what you desire as possible!

I've heard this song quite a bit on the radio recently and really enjoy it as it speaks to the part of my heart that desires to be cared for, looked after, and loved.

Hope you enjoy it as well!

Ruffly Chenille Onesies

Hi folks!
As I'm sure many have seen there are quite a few ideas going around as to how one can dress up simple baby onesies.  Some friends of mine recently had an adorable baby girl and so I decided to try out an idea I'd had for some faux chenille applique.

I'd first seen the faux chenille technique over at Aesthetic Nest when she used it to make this baby blanket:

I first experimented with it in pillow form and loved the results so I wanted to experiment with it on a smaller scale in creating some texture to applique.

Below is the:
